The practice is led by Doctor Rasika Perera and Practice manager – Piyumi Henegama and Practice Nurse -Natalie Whitfield.​

With a firm focus on being family oriented, Tuart Family Practice offers a wide range of medical services for women, men and children.The experienced team is able to provide a number of services including dermatological care, chronic disease management; as well as catch up vaccinations, contraceptive care and contraceptive insertions.

Dr. Rasika Perera
Dr. Rasika PereraPractice Principal

MBBS, FRACGP, Certificate of Primary Care Skin Cancer Medicine (University of Queensland)

Dr Rasika Perera is the owner of Tuart Family Practice. She has strong family values and is determined to bring these values into her practice. Dr Perera offers a range of medical services for all ages. She graduated in Sri Lanka 2003, and moved to Australia in 2011 with her husband and twin boys.

Dr Perera completed her fellowship in 2015. In 2017 Dr Perera opened her practice in Baldivis, and has built an excellent team to ensure all needs of her patients are met.
She has a strong interest in chronic disease management and children’s health.
Dr. Sanath De Silva

He brings over 20 years of knowledge and expertise as a Medical Practitioner to Tuart Family Practice.
Dr. De Silva is interested in children’s, men’s and women’s health, Mental Health, Skin Cancer screening for all ages and Chronic Disease Management and much more.

Dr Nimna AbeydeeraGeneral Practitioner

MBBS, FRACGP, Diploma in Child Health

Dr Nimna is one of our female GP’s. She was born and completed her undergraduate study in Sri Lanka. She came to Australia in 2010 with her husband and three children.
She has an interest in all modalities of general practice, but has extensive training in children’s health. She also has training in women’s health including contraception and Mirena insertions.

Peter Jordan
Peter JordanClinical Psychologist

Peter is a clinical psychologist and supervisor with extensive experience of working with individuals, families and groups. He specialises in working with adults, young people and children presenting with a range of psychological difficulties.

Peter is experienced in a number of therapeutic perspectives and is able to work collaboratively with individuals struggling with problems, which perpetuate unhappiness, low mood or reduced levels of functioning to assist in enhancing their psychological and emotional efficacy and wellbeing.
His clinical psychology experience spans more than 30 years combining management, training and clinical responsibilities in a variety of corporate, public health, voluntary sector, and private settings both in Australia, Europe and the UK.
Kylie CoventryCounselling Psychologist

Kylie is a registered and endorsed Counselling Psychologist with 25 years’ experience in providing assessment and treatment for individuals, couples and families encountering personal and/or interpersonal difficulties – from relationship problems through to complex psychological conditions. Kylie is a registered provider with Medicare and most private health funds. In addition, she is a recognized provider for workers’ compensation adjustment counselling and for motor vehicle accidents covered by the Western Australian Insurance Commission.

Kylie’s areas of interest and expertise include depression, anxiety, trauma-related disorders (PTSD), grief and loss, parenting, relationship counselling, ageing/life transitions, conflict management, LGBTQI, self-esteem/self-confidence issues and stress management. Kylie also has a particular interest and further training in perinatal and infant mental health and provides counselling for both Mums and Dads with a focus on the parent-child relationship from infancy to adolescence.
In addition to her therapeutic practice, Kylie is a registered facilitator with the Beyondblue National Workplace Program and an Accredited Educator of the Circle of Security© (COS) attachment-based parenting program.
Megan Nielsen
Megan NielsenRM RN / Endorsed Midwife

Meg has a vast wealth of knowledge as both a Registered Nurse, Nurse Educator and Registered
Midwife working in NSW, the UK, Northern Territory and Western Australia. She has a passion for women’s health and believes in continuity of care for a woman and her family, from early pregnancy through into the postnatal period. Meg works with women both to provide a safe healthy pregnancy, as well as listening to, and providing education specific to their needs.

She believes a woman-centred approach encourages women to have the birth of their choice. She enjoys working in collaboration with women and their families, GP/Obstetrician Dr Kavipriya Soma as well as other passionate like-minded midwives who work in the Perth community.
Natalie Whitfield
Natalie Whitfield Senior Registered Nurse

Nat and Tahnee have a combined 30 years of clinical experience. Together they bring a wealth of knowledge to our treatment room. Our nurses are friendly, efficient and enthusiastic. They will be involved in your holistic care, chronic disease management and will quickly triage you if you are unwell and need prompt attention. They are fantastic with children and will make your child’s trip to the doctor as enjoyable as possible.

Tahnee Harvey
Tahnee HarveyRegistered Nurse

Nat and Tahnee have a combined 30 years of clinical experience. Together they bring a wealth of knowledge to our treatment room. Our nurses are friendly, efficient and enthusiastic. They will be involved in your holistic care, chronic disease management and will quickly triage you if you are unwell and need prompt attention. They are fantastic with children and will make your child’s trip to the doctor as enjoyable as possible.

Piyumi HenegamaPractice Manager

Piyumi has extensive experience working in administration and management roles in medical practices. She oversees the daily operation of the practice and ensures efficient processes and protocols are put in place.
